We have created the following policies to respect and protect our users' rights, and will do everything we can to uphold these values throughout the site. Registration Agreement First thing is you need to use your REAL NAME!!! If you don't want the footbag community to know your real name, then you are not welcome to register here. Seriously. Use your First and Last name or your account will be deleted. We may be nice and "ask" you to update your account info, but please save us the hassle. One day you may actually become involved in the sport (or at least a "known" player, so start off on the right track and let people know who you are. Other than that, registering means you accept the terms listed on this page, so keep reading. No-Spam Policy First of all we are a not-for-profit company, and our aim is to act as medium to facilitate the footbag community in its aim of propelling the growth of the sport. That said, your information is kept private and secure, and never shared with a third party unless by court order, which has never happened of course- we're just footbaggers. Anyway, on top of our commitment to privacy we have taken active steps to prevent spam harvesters (programs which scour the internet for email links) from being able to see the email links on our pages. Anytime an email address is posted on our site, it is invisible to harvesters, even though you can still click it to send an email. However, we recommend you play it safe, by splitting addresses so only a human can read it, such as "you(at)email(dot)com." The only drawback is that people have to copy & paste it manually as opposed to the one-click option, but the choice is yours. Posting Rules Flipsider.com is intended to facilitate footbag-related discussion, learning, exploration, and information dissemination among its users. Because of our large user base, we had to create Conditions, Rules, Etiquette & Guidelines in order to keep the site professional, organized, and free of spam or unrelated information. Please use the site for footbag only. Conditions: Registration to Flipsider gives you the ability to interact on many parts of our site. By registering, you agree to our Posting Rules as described herein, and you declare that you are at least 13 years of age (sorry kids, it's the magic number for internet use). Although the Administrators and Moderators of Flipsider will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off the site, it is impossible for us to review all messages immediately. All messages express the views of the author, and the owners of Flipsider.com will not be held responsible for the content of any message. Flipsider’s Administrators and Moderators have the right to move, delete, edit, or close any posts for any reason, without any further explanation required. That is just a disclaimer; nobody here rules with an iron fist. General Posting Rules: You agree to not post or reply any message (including external links) which contains any of the following contents: - Obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
- Unethical, disrespectful, shocking material.
- Racism, politics, war, religion.
- Spam or advertising of any sort (hidden, via urls/images). Our site is here for you to learn, explore, communicate, not to provide you income thanks to our success.
- Criminal practices.
- License or copyright infringements: warez, cracks, serials, illegal audio, video & images.
Furthermore: - We do not tolerate multiple or shared accounts. If you lost your registration details, contact an Administrator to find out, instead of creating a new account.
- We do not tolerate flame wars.
- We do not tolerate the abuse of our Member Database. You may not send Private Messages which contains any of the above unacceptable contents.
- We will not hesitate to cancel, ban or put your account on hold, if you disrespect the above simple rules or our members (see Banning Policy below for more info).
Posting Etiquette: - Please post in English only, and use proper grammar. We have a worldwide audience of many languages, so using poor grammar makes it very difficult for those whose first language is not English.
- Before you post a new topic to our forums, we expect you to search our site. Repeat topics as a result of not researching our site will be closed or deleted.
- Place your topic in the correct forum category.
- Thread naming: use a clear but short topic title, which describes the message (do not trick people into viewing a thread). "Help me!" or "New Move" titles are not acceptable. Instead, be specific, and if you need help, tell people exactly what you are having trouble with.
- Do not use ALL CAPS, or KidDy ScRiPt TeXt. It’s annoying instead of attracting.
- Please do not cross post to get a faster response (cross posting = posting the same thread in multiple categories, or posting the same reply in multiple threads). If you’re not sure you posted in the right category, request a Moderator to move your topic to the appropriate forum category.
- Do not bump topics to get attention. If people can help, they usually will.
- Do not post useless replies, and please try to stay on topic.
- Privacy: do not post information not meant to be public. Also, when typing an email address, please write "user(at)domain(dot)com" instead of "
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
" to ensure spam harvesters won't see them.
- Try to be helpful by answering thoughtfully, and show respect to other users at all times. If you don’t like someone's comments, be considerate and give a constructive reply. Nobody wants flame wars, and they will not be tolerated.
- If you really think your post count is important, then why not try to help some users which are waiting for answers.
Banning Policy: If any member fails to respect our simple rules as described above, they will be banned, either temporarily or permanently, based on the severity of their wrongdoing. We will do what is necessary to keep our site free from irrelevant information that does not continue to promote the values we strive for. Thank you for your support and understanding. Since we like everyone to get a second chance, we came up with this Banning Policy: Temporary 24 Hour Ban: Goes out to users who have a sudden anger attack (this results in flame wars), made a post with untolerated topics according to our General Posting Policy, or who posts irrelevant threads/replies because they drank too much alcohol. - A temporary ban will also result in one Official Warning (*)
- A 24-hour ban can be given two times, after that it will result in a Temporary Week Ban.
Temporary Week Ban: Goes to people who show irritating behavior: multiple cross postings on purpose, multiple irrelevant posts/replies, weird hyperlink posts, spam posts. - A temporary week ban will also result in one Official Warning (*)
- A Permanent Ban will follow as soon as the user starts over with his untoleratable actions after the week ban period.
Permanent Ban: Goes out to people who had a Temporary Week Ban before, or who went way out of line. - We don’t give out Official Warnings for permanent bans, because we probably wasted already enough of our time on the individual.
(*) The Official Warning: If you run into a Temporary 24 Hour or Week Ban, a Moderator will send you an Official Warning by email, so you hopefully think twice next time before repeating the same action. You are then warned and you cannot use the “I didn’t know!™” or "It wasn't me!™" excuses. Your account is your responsibility, and you need to play by the rules. It’s the job of the Moderators to help maintain these policies. If we feel you did something wrong but couldn’t have known, an email will be sent to inform you of your little mistake, and we ask for your understanding. Thanks for reading our posting policy. Have fun! Shop Policies Flipsider is a non-profit company and we are providing a free service to the community who wants to sell their useful items to other footbaggers. Sellers Sellers must follow all of the following guidelines. - Products must be footbag-related! New and used items are ok.
- Descriptions must be complete and accurate! Provide as much detail as possible, including anything that's wrong with it. Specify your return policy for the product(s) or if a final sale.
- Provide timely, friendly support and service to interested parties, especially those who make purchases.
- Do not sell copyright, trademark or patent-infringing products.
- Although we do not require a percentage of revenue, please consider making a donation if Flipsider facilitated the sale of your product. A mere 5-10% would be much appreciated.
Buyers We hope you will have a smooth experience with all sellers with whom you do business. Keep in mind Flipsider.com is merely a third-party providing this free service to both buyers and sellers, and are held free from any and all liability to claims against any and all sellers. It is the responsibility of the seller to provide support and service to interested parties, and we cannot be expected to mediate disputes. Fraudulent Use This is something we take very seriously, and we expect all sellers to act professionally and honestly. However, if there is any fraudulent behavior we want to know about it, and ask that you notify us immediately. This is not to overlook the potential for fraudulent buyers, so let it be clear that we expect buyers to also play by the rules, and make your transactions complete and honest. Any and all fraudulent users will be banned without exception. Privacy Policy Flipsider is committed to maintaining high standards of privacy and security for its users. The following policy is designed to protect the personal information you provide on our website. Please take the time to read this policy. Your rights are very important to us. Your Personal Information The purpose of Flipsider.com is to enhance your footbag experience and encourage your participation in the community. When you surf the site, you may remain anonymous. We do not require you to provide personal information for general use. However, when you register to the site or purchase products, we must ask for personal information. All your information is kept strictly confidential and is never shared with an outside party. Furthermore, we work hard to keep our software and databases secure and uncompromised. Suspicious Emails If you ever receive a suspicious email (especially with an attachment) from someone with an @flipsider.com address, please disregard and delete without opening! We do not send emails with attachments, unless previously arranged. Unfortunately spammers have found ways to pose as others, disguising their real addresses. This is not specific to Flipsider; a spammer can use any domain. Credit Card Data and Security Flipsider.com does not collect or store any credit card information. If you make a purchase through the Shop, payment is entirely separate from this site. We provide the ability for Sellers to offer PayPal payment options inside their listings ('Buy Now' buttons), which direct Buyers to make the purchase through PayPal, which uses encrypted SSL secure servers. This technology is the most secure transaction method available online. Cookies Cookies are tiny files stored by your web browser, which contain information that can help you access pages faster and allow our server to recognize you as you move from page to page (useful when you are logged in). If you choose not to accept cookies, some sections of our site may not be available to you.
