 The battle for best footbag short film is here again. Footbag video makers have three months to plan, shoot and edit their masterpieces for this year's contest. The challenge was a hit at 2005 Worlds and this year the show is expected to be even more spectacular, presented by planetfootbag and BOTS filming crew.

 I'm happy to announce the addition of the Foundation and Advanced move albums to the Gallery. It's still a fairly limited release, 16 moves and 30 videos, but it's a good start. Demos by Chad, Jorden and myself. If you are really good at any of these moves, please add your tricks tips!

They also produced a pretty amazing commercial, shot presumably in Brazil, aimed at the millions of kids who play soccer, encouraging them to pick up a "footy buddy" (footbag) to hone their soccer skills. You can find both videos in our On Air gallery. 7 Comments |

So you all know what to expect in the coming year, I want to give a timeline for the Tricks section.
Originally I intended on launching the new site with trick demos by *several* players: me, Chad D., Jorden Moir, Peter Irish, Yacine Merzouk, Gordon Bevier and Sebastien Duchesne, plus a few cameos. Not only do I have the footage for all these players, it's already digitized and ready to cut for the Tricks section.
The only problem is I am far too busy to do all that, and I've already poured every ounce of my free time into this beast. So it's going to take a little while; bear with me. Naturally I had to get some tricks done to launch the site, so I did all mine and all of Chad's tricks to begin with, which totals 126 videos, a pretty fair start.
In the coming year I hope to get the rest online, probably starting with Jorden's moves, since he's so creative, and he worked so hard to get me the media. I may decide to make all Jorden's moves in Windows Media (wmv) format, by the way, but no guarantees.
That's about all I have to say at the moment. Feel free to ask any questions in your comments.

 footbag movie: Bringing Out the Shred
Update 1: Following the premiere at the World Championships and a few private screenings, BOTS has generated a well-deserved amount of hype. This first of its kind film releases on DVD October 31. Vainikka also managed to get BOTS listed on IMDb , which maintains an extensive database on cinematic releases and television programming. Props, Jere.
Update 2: Now Released and available for purchase! The DVD features 5.1 surround sound, lots of bonus material, a Making Of documentary, and subtitles in several languages. Check out the trailer if you haven't seen it. No doubt history in the making. 1 Comments |
