Kellogg's footbag promotion

Check out the new footbag promotion by Kellogg's, giving away a "footy buddy" inside each box of Frosted Flakes, distributed internationally. They hired 5-time freestyle world champion Peter Irish to represent their promotion, featured in a video on their website, frostedflakes.com.

They also produced a pretty amazing commercial, shot presumably in Brazil, aimed at the millions of kids who play soccer, encouraging them to pick up a "footy buddy" (footbag) to hone their soccer skills. You can find both videos in our On Air gallery.

Title: factoid follow-up

While I'm glad to see the promotion happen, I was a little disappointed because I was actually the first person in footbag Kellogg's contacted but fell out of the loop along the way. See, initially they saw a video I shot of Pete and were strikingly interested in hiring him for their promotion. They asked me what I thought of his character and likeness as a spokesperson for footbag, among a million other questions, and they wanted to buy the rights to my video (of Pete) for their website. Everything went really well over a few phone calls and emails, and I was excited to watch the promotion develop (and to play a part in the process), then I just didn't hear back from them. Pete assured me they were following through on the campaign, and eventually I found out that they opted to shoot a 30-second spot instead of using my existing video. But that's totally cool! The video is great, and Pete did really well. I just don't get paid.

Props to Pete for making it happen! It couldn't be to a more deserving player.

Kids everywhere will play footbag for about 5 minutes, and then realize they actually have to practise!..Hopefully we pick up some good footbaggers somewhere along the way!

That´s right, the commercial was shot in Brazil... yep, we´re next.... Instead of "footy buddy" the name will be "futbag", witch is better I think. Well, lets see what happens...
