Thanks to Allan Haggett, footbag is now officially a sport... on DMOZ.
Allan Haggett writes:
In case no one is familiar with it, the Open Directory Project is:
“… the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by a vast, global community of volunteer editors.”

Up until a week or so ago, our sport of Footbag had been unceremoniously classified in “Games: Yard, Deck, and Table Games”. I simply couldn’t let that slide, so I applied to become an editor and after being accepted, proceeded to petition to have Footbag moved to its new home: http://dmoz.org/Sports/Footbag/
I will be continuing my work there in the near future, adding more good footbag sites to the list and keeping the spam off of it (I already removed the Pakistani manufacturer sites that had been listed).
Google pulls many descriptions of websites from the DMOZ listings and it is regularly viewed by many millions of people. I hope that this move gives Footbag more of the prominence and respect that it deserves as a legitimate sporting activity.
Good job, Allan! We have been vindicated!
