Flipsider was started in 1999 by Eliot (Ellis) Piltz as a way to promote footbag through multimedia and information. At first it was a for-profit company, and was modestly viable for a while, but when Eliot decided to go back to school (film/video editing), he decided to close the shop and let Flipsider act solely as an avenue of promotion, entertainment and information. This ideal remains today, and is making an even greater leap with this new version, to encourage greater community involvement. Flipsider has gone through many changes over the years and surely will continue to do so, but the one commitment that is everlasting is to promote footbag creatively, progressively and to an international audience.
