Stance - Bigfoot or Sideways? PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 09 January 2006 - Written by Eliot Piltz
What is it?

Everyone has a natural tendency for which foot or side they favor. Some players are naturally better with their right or left foot, while others are more inclined to the right or left side.

Which one am I?

The easiest way to tell which one you are is to compare your toe stalls and clipper stalls. If your right foot is better at both stalls, then you are (right) Bigfoot. If your right toe stall and left foot clipper are better, then you are (right) Sideways.

If you are so good that the stalls alone are the same on both sides, then you may have to look at which Stepping set and which Pixie set you favor, and in this case the above rule applies.

Why does it matter?

No matter how equal-sided you are, you will always share similarities with other players of your stance. It determines which components are stronger and which ones match up best for your biggest moves. Will your Blurry Whirl be "easy" on one side and much harder on the other, or will your regular Stepping set lead to your flip Far Whirl and vice versa? That's what stance determines for *every move*.

Title: Foot Inequality
Having played footbag for quite a few years now, i have gotten into the habit of learning new tricks, and favoring my right foot while i do them. I try to change this and learn them on my left side, but it takes so much effort that i find myself not being able to do it. my question is whether or not i should be worried (my left foot seems too dormant), and i feel as if im a worse of a player b/c of it, should i try and remedy the situation while its still salvageable, or should i ignore it?
